New HIV/Hep C Prescriber Support
To apply the learning from the STBBI Virtual Classrooms, STEPS helps physicians and nurse practitioners become designated HIV and/or Hep C prescribers with Saskatchewan Drug Plan. To support this, we offer clinical preceptorships and connect healthcare providers with experts in the field. You do not need to complete a preceptorship to prescribe HIV and/or Hep C medications, or to become a designated prescriber.
How to Become a Designated HIV/HEP C Prescriber for Saskatchewan
The STEPS program provides coordination and preparation of requests to SK Drug Plan on behalf of physicians and nurse practitioners who want to be added to the list of Designated ARV (HIV) and/or DAA (Hep C) Treatment Prescribers for Saskatchewan. Joining this list will ensure HIV and Hep C medication cost coverage for patients covered under SK Drug Plan.

Clinical Preceptorships
STEPS coordinates half or full day clinical preceptorships for Saskatchewan physcians and nurse practioners interested in treating and managing patients living with HIV and/or Hep C. This is an opportunity for these healthcare providers to shadow a STBBI clinician's day-to-day work.
At this time, we are able to offer these opportunities in Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, and North Battleford.
If you're interested in participating, please fill out this intake form.
