Conference Objectives

At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • Incorporate the latest developments in the management of ACS
  • Choose appropriate management strategies for Atrial Fibrillation
  • Apply evidence-based strategies for managing patients with heart failure
  • Comprehend how to investigate and manage patients with difficult-to-treat hypertension
  • Identify a practical approach to palpitations and the patient with high burden PVCs
  • Update on the current status of percutaneous cardiac interventions in Saskatchewan
Target Audience

Family physicians, general practitioners, nurse practitioners, internal medicine specialists, residents and medical students.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada: This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Continuing Medical Education Division, University of Saskatchewan for up to 6.5 credit hours.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada: This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the Continuing Medical Education Division, University of Saskatchewan for up to 6.5 Mainpro+ credits.

ECG Interactive Workshop

Workshop Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Review common ECGs, in a small group setting, one on one with a cardiologist
  • Identify diagnostic criteria for common cardiac conditions such as STEMI, chamber enlargement, heart blocks, arrhythmia and basic pacemaker function
