Course Information
This course consists of two sections that will review fundamental concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion, focusing on Trans-Inclusive healthcare for youth. The first section consists of five self-directed online modules that will provide an update on providing gender-affirming care for youth, gender-affirming physiotherapy, hormone therapy, and how to support trans and gender diverse youth. The second section will be an interdisciplinary virtual panel to cover frequently asked questions.
Course Objectives:
- Identify the importance of gender-affirming health care in supporting transgender youth.
- Describe the role of physiotherapists in gender-affirming care.
- Demonstrate approaches to counselling transgender children and youth.
- Apply approaches to effectively support caregivers for transgender youth.

The target audience is family physicians, specialists, nurses, nurse practitioners, mental health professionals, pharmacists, physiotherapists, residents, researchers, health sciences students, and other health care professionals.
