Trans-Inclusive Healthcare Series
Course Information
This course consists of two sections that will review fundamental concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion with a focus on Trans-Inclusive healthcare. The first section consists of five self-directed online modules that will provide an overview of trans-inclusive healthcare, hormone therapy, mental health care, surgical referrals, and the roles of the family physician in trans healthcare. The second section will be an interdisciplinary virtual panel to cover frequently asked questions.

Course Objectives:
- Describe what it means to be a trans or gender-diverse person from a trans community perspective.
- Enable gender euphoria rather than just treating dysphoria.
- Explain hormone replacement therapy and its role in helping patients align their bodies with their gender identity.
- Implement the referral process for gender-affirming surgery.
- Demonstrate positive and culturally safe primary care interactions for trans and gender-diverse patients.
Target Audience:
The target audience is family physicians, specialist physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, mental health professionals, pharmacists, physiotherapists, residents, researchers, health sciences students, and other health care professionals.
