University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Medicine, Dean Dr. Sarah Forgie, Interim Vice-Dean of Education, Dr. Gill White, and Associate Dean of Continuing Medical Education (CME), Dr. James Barton, share their thoughts on the division's accomplishments from 2025-26.
Education
CME delivered a diverse portfolio of accredited education opportunities to meet the evolving health needs in Saskatchewan. Through the use of virtual learning platforms and other technology innovations, CME expanded equitable access to continuing professional development for healthcare professionals in rural, remote and urban locations.
People
CME supports physician wellness, coaching and mentorship, lifelong learning, and retaining the people our province needs. Through awards and recognition programs, CME fosters a culture of appreciation, and celebration across the province.

CME advances high-quality professional development through evidence-informed research.
